Allows foreign individuals who have lawfully resided in the Solomon Islands for aleast five (5) years on other dependency visas and seeking permanent residency.
Residents (Long Term)
USD $1500 visa valid for 5 years, must have 5 years of continuous prior stay, extendable.
- 5 years – must meet residency history – no work rights automatically granted
Dependents (Long Term)
Free visa linked to primary resident, assessed based on continued dependency.
- Linked to resident – re-evaluated after 5 years – not automatically eligible
Dependent of Resident on Short Term or Long Term Visa
USD $300 visa valid for up to 2 years, linked to primary applicant.
- 2 years – multiple entries, visa extention
Family Relationship Visa - Dependent of a Solomon Island Citizen
USD $300 visa valid for 2 years, extendable.
- 2 years – extendable – work rights not permitted (unless separately authorized)
Asylum Seeker
Free visa, ministerial submission required, not extendable.
- Ministerial approval required – not extendable
Refugee
Free visa, not extendable.
- Granted under specific international protection – not extendable
Human Trafficking & Smuggling
Free visa, not extendable.
- Protected status subject to assessment – not extendable
