The Long-Term Employment Visa allows foreign nationals to reside and work in the Solomon Islands for an extended period under a valid work permit.

Visa Requirements
- Fill in Long-Term Employment Visa form in eVisa portal.
- Submit valid passport biopage and details.
- Submit valid work permit from the Solomon Islands Commissioner of Labour.
- Police report (latest report from country of origin).
- Medical report (latest report from country of origin).
- Marriage Certificate (if applicable)
- Sponsor letter of Indemnity.
- Pay online fee.
- Pay visa application fee.

This visa is intended for expatriates who have secured long-term employment with an organization or company operating in the Solomon Islands.
Processing time
- The processing time may vary for different visa categories, there is no specific timeframe, however all applications will be processed when registered in our system.

When you get your visa
Once your visa is approved, we will send your grant letter through your email that you provided.
Your visa is valid from:
- the date you entered Solomon Islands.
- the date your visa is granted.
How to Apply
Applicants must obtain a valid work permit and provide a Letter of Support from the Labour Division confirming approval of the position. Additional documentation may include an employment contract, passport bio-data page, and proof of qualifications.
Note: Visa duration and conditions are tied directly to the terms of the approved work permit. Any changes in employment must be reported to immigration authorities.
Character requirements for the visa
- There is a character concern about a person if –
- the person has a record of serious criminal conduct, whether in Solomon Islands or in a foreign country.
- the person has been convicted for more than one criminal offence, whether in Solomon Islands or in a foreign country.
- the person is a threat to national security, connected to terrorist act, people trafficking, child sex, drug smuggling.
- the person is acquitted of an offence on the grounds of unsoundness of mind or insanity, detained in a facility.
Cancellation of visa
- The Director of Immigration may cancel a visa if –
- there is a character concern about the person applying for the visa.
- the visa was obtained through fraud or false information or document.
