Ministerial (Long-term)
This visa is issued at the discretion of the Solomon Islands Government to individuals who engage in service of the ministry and organizations supported by the Solomon Islands Government.

Who Should Apply
- Any individual granted entry through special Ministerial authority, including for humanitarian, or strategic purposes.
- Those who are employed under Solomon Islands Government.
- Apply for visa exemption under section 11 (1) (b) and (e) of the Immigration Act 2012.
Visa Requirements
- Provide a valid copy of your Passport bio data page.
- Provide a copy of Support letter from Ministry
- Provide a copy of Minute Note from Labour (engaged in projects supported by SIG)
- Contract of employment
- Confirmation of employment from Public Service (employed by SIG Ministry)
Important
You must apply outside of Solomon Islands. You may not be allowed into Solomon Islands if your passport validity is less than 6 months. Makesure you attach all required documents with your application.
Processing time
- The processing time may vary for different visa categories, there is no specific timeframe, however all applications will be processed when registered in our system.
- After you apply online for your visa, log into your account to check your visa status.
- We will notify you through your email once we make a decision.
- To prevent delays in processing time, please attach all required documents with your application.
When you get your visa
Once your visa is approved, we will send your grant letter through your email that you provided.
Your visa is valid from:
- the date you entered Solomon Islands.
- the date your visa is granted.
Important
You must present a copy of your grant letter when you enter Solomon Islands.
