This visa is for accredited diplomats and foreign government officials posted in the Solomon Islands for long-term diplomatic missions.

Who Should Apply
- Foreign diplomats and international government officials appointed to embassies, consulates, or official government duties in the Solomon Islands.
- High Commisioners or Ambassadors, designed staff of the Overseas Missions under section 11 (1) (a) of the Immigration Act 2012.
Visa Requirements
- Complete application form in the eVisa portal.
- Provide a valid copy of your passport biopage.
- Provide a copy of your sponsor letter of indemnity.
- Provide a copy of a Diplomatic Note from Mission/Embassy.
- Provide a copy of your support Letter from Solomon Islands Ministry of Foreign Affairs & External Trade.
Important
You must apply outside of Solomon Islands. You may not be allowed into Solomon Islands if your passport validity is less than 6 months. Makesure you attach all required documents with your application.
Processing time
- The processing time may vary for different visa categories, there is no specific timeframe, however all applications will be processed when registered in our system.
- After you apply online for your visa, log into your account to check your visa status.
- We will notify you through your email once we make a decision.
- To prevent delays in processing time, please attach all required documents with your application.
When you get your visa
Once your visa is approved, we will send your grant letter through your email that you provided.
Your visa is valid from:
- the date you entered Solomon Islands.
- the date your visa is granted.
Important
You must present a copy of your grant letter when you enter Solomon Islands.
How to Apply

- You will be required to register an account before proceeding.
- Register using a valid email address and create a secure password.
- After registration, log in to your account using your email and password.
- Once logged in, complete the online visa application form and submit your application.

Specific requirements for the visa
- the person has diplomatic privileges and immunities have been extended in Solomon Islands.
- the person is employed in the service of the Government of Solomon Islands, and the family of the person.
- the person is a serving memeber of His Majesty’s Forces, if that responsibility for the member’s repatriation has been accepted by the service concerned.
Character requirements for the visa
- There is a character concern about a person if –
- the person has a record of serious criminal conduct, whether in Solomon Islands or in a foreign country.
- the person has been convicted for more than one criminal offence, whether in Solomon Islands or in a foreign country.
- the person is a threat to national security, connected to terrorist act, people trafficking, child sex, drug smuggling.
- the person is acquitted of an offence on the grounds of unsoundness of mind or insanity, detained in a facility.
Cancellation of visa
- The Director of Immigration may cancel a visa if –
- there is a character concern about the person applying for the visa.
- the visa was obtained through fraud or false information or document.
