Who Should Apply
People’s Republic of China citizens with – Official/Diplomatic/Ordinary Passports.
Visa Requirements
- Complete application form online through the eVisa portal.
- Submit valid diplomat, official, ordinary passport biopage.
- Submit Existing Signed MoU or travel arrangements.
- Submit People’s Republic of China (PRC) valid foreign service, official or ordinary travel identification documents.
Processing time
- Estimated 1 -5 days. The processing time may vary for different visa categories, however all applications will be processed when registered in our system.
- After you apply online for your visa, log into your account to check your visa status.
- We will notify you through your email once we make a decision.
- To prevent delays in processing time, please attach all required documents with your application.
When you get your visa
Once your visa is approved, we will send your grant letter through your email that you provided.
Your visa is valid from:
- the date you entered Solomon Islands.
- the date your visa is granted.
How to Apply

- Register using a valid email address and create a secure password.
- After registration, log in to your account using your email and password.
- Once logged in, complete the online visa application form and submit your application.

MOU agreement for the visa
As of January 27, 2025, citizens of the People’s Republic of China and the Solomon Islands holding ordinary passports can travel to each other’s countries for up to 30 days without a visa, according to a mutual exemption agreement. This pact allows for tourism, business, and family visits, strengthening bilateral ties.
Key Details of the Mutual Visa Exemption:
- Effective Date: The agreement was implemented on January 27, 2025.
- Scope: Holders of ordinary passports (as well as diplomatic and service passports) are covered under the agreement.
- Duration: Visa-free entry allows for a stay of up to 30 days per visit.
- Purpose: Authorized for business, tourism, family/friend visits, and transit.
- Background: This agreement follows a 2022 deal that initially covered only diplomatic and service passports, further strengthening the diplomatic relationship established in 2019.
Important Notes:
- While visa-free for ordinary passports, travellers must still adhere to local immigration laws.
- This policy encourages travel and, according to the Solomon Islands Government Portal, aims to strengthen the relationship between the two nations.
Character requirements for the visa
- There is a character concern about a person if –
- the person has a record of serious criminal conduct, whether in Solomon Islands or in a foreign country.
- the person has been convicted for more than one criminal offence, whether in Solomon Islands or in a foreign country.
- the person is a threat to national security, connected to terrorist act, people trafficking, child sex, drug smuggling.
- the person is acquitted of an offence on the grounds of unsoundness of mind or insanity, detained in a facility.
Cancellation of visa
- The Director of Immigration may cancel a visa if –
- there is a character concern about the person applying for the visa.
- the visa was obtained through fraud or false information or document.
