Religious Worker (Non-Commercial / Working)

This visa applies to missionaries and religious staff working in a non-profit religious context.

Visa Requirements
  1. Fill in Religious Worker form in eVisa portal.
  2. Submit valid passport biopage.
  3. Submit approval permission letter from the Commissioner of Labour.
  4. Sponsor letter of Indemnity from a Religious Organization.
  5. Police report from country of residence.
  6. Medical report.  
Who Should Apply

Foreign pastors, church staff, or missionaries affiliated with a registered religious institution.

How to Apply

A Third-Party Note or Ministerial Letter of Approval is required as part of the application.

Character requirements for the visa
  1.  There is a character concern about a person if – 
  • the person has a record of serious criminal conduct, whether in Solomon Islands or in a foreign country.
  • the person has been convicted for more than one criminal offence, whether in Solomon Islands or in a foreign country.
  • the person is a threat to national security, connected to terrorist act, people trafficking, child sex, drug smuggling.
  • the person is acquitted of an offence on the grounds of unsoundness of mind or insanity, detained in a facility. 
Cancellation of visa
  1.  The Director of Immigration may cancel a visa if – 
  • there is a character concern about the person applying for the visa.
  • the visa was obtained through fraud or false information or document.
